As we enter Red Beach Early Learning Centre, we always receive a genuine, warm welcome from you. I have been touched by the way that you never fail to greet my elder son by name, even though he has never attended the Centre. This is one example of many things that you do to make this place so special.
I know that you have all worked at the Centre for a number of years and are all parents yourselves. Your wealth of experience has helped to provide Tyler with fun, stimulating and varied activities such as making drums (and a multitude of other 'inventions' from egg boxes!), enthralling Science experiments and constructing pirate ships and telescopes. He has developed a love of Te Reo Maori and has taught me many new phrases too! I have appreciated how each one of you has spent time interacting with Tyler and I am confident that you know him well as an individual. This is further demonstrated by your open communication, which has kept us informed of what Tyler has done on a daily basis, including his budding friendships!
Tyler has felt happy, safe and valued within the Centre, but he has also relished his visits to the local environment, such as the beach or the reserve. Today, he took great delight telling me about all the measuring he had done at the playground and all the exercise he did there too!
The extension group has helped Tyler to further develop his Literacy and Numeracy skills, as well as his fine motor skills such as handwriting, cutting and sticking. Of equal importance are the ‘life skills’ that you have begun to teach Tyler, such as how to share or problem solve, or be resilient. We have seem him grow in happiness and self-confidence and thanks to you, we have no doubts that he is ready and equipped to start the next stage of his learning journey at 'big school'!
Despite being ready, I know Tyler doesn't want to leave this very special place! You are a wonderful team of amazing ladies!
